Jil Sander
Heidemarie Jiline Sander, also from Hamburg, founded her fashion company under the name JIL SANDER in 1968. She designed with some interruptions for her own brand until 2004, after the Italian fashion group Prada had bought JIL SANDER almost completely. In 2004 she finally separated from Jil Sander and her own fashion label. What makes her number 2 among German fashion designers? Jil Sander is not called Queen of less for nothing, and is known for her minimalistic but very high quality style. She set new lines in the fashion industry and her designed pantsuit and trench coat are still her trademark today. The simple colours black, grey, white, beige, brown and dark blue testify to a simple elegance of her fashion for career women.
